Michael Steve Pastelyak, age 63, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 1, 2010, at home in Suwanee, with family and friends beside him. He had suffered from early onset Alzheimer's disease for several years. Michael was born in Lorain, Ohio, received his BA from Ohio University and Executive Masters from Columbia University. He spent many years in the food industry and later as a consumer products consultant for KPMG, IBM and SAP. Michael will be missed for his energy, generosity, intellect, fun loving spirit and his love of animals.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Michael Pastelyak of Lorain, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Pastelyak; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Chris and Michael Havrilla; sister and brother-in-law, Marleen and Jim Forst of Lorain, Ohio; niece, Lauren Grakauskas and family; many aunts, uncles, especially dear to him for their love and support, Patty and Ed Criswell of Lockport, N.Y.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Catholic Church of St. Monica's on Monday, Dec. 6, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, Ohio. Family and friends will gather in remembrance at home in Suwanee for a private visitation.
