Mrs. Monique Genevrey Sanford, age 87, of Atlanta passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008. She was born in Lyons, France and grew up in Paris. Mrs. Sanford met her husband, Boykin "Bookie" Sanford in Paris during World War II and married in the American Church in Paris. They traveled in France before moving to the United States where she became a U.S. citizen. She was a faithful employee of Sears Roebuck Co. for 25 years. She had many loves, including her church, The Cathedral of St. Philip, the symphony, her family, friends, and her beloved France.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Monique and Randy Maddox of Cumming; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Alexis Maddox; niece, Mireille Boutet; and her husband, Yves Boutet.
A private memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the .
