Morris Alfred Young, age 81, of Cumming passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012. Mr. Young retired from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant. He served in the Korean Conflict and in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Midway Community Church. He was an avid fisherman and a loved hunting. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Kaye Young.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Gordon Young of Cumming; children, Ronnie (Tracy) Young of Cumming, Barbara Ann Newcomb of Powder Springs, Mary Maier of Roswell, Brenden St. John of Newnan; sisters, Carol Blalock of Decatur, Debbie Anderson of Washington, Ga.; brother, Joey Young of Loganville; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5, at 1 p.m. at Midway Community Church, with the Rev. Dean Ropp and the Rev. Ron Young Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 3, from 6-8 p.m.
