Myrtle Ophelia Davis, age 88, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Cumming Nursing Center. Ophelia was born in 1928, to the late Joseph and Ollie Standridge. She attended Free Spirit Church of Suwanee, and Antioch Baptist Church in Dawsonville. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Archie "AC" Davis; daughter, Janice Arnold; five brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her children, James (Brenda) Cook of Dahlonega, Pat (Edwin) Burnett of Cumming, Grace Claudine (Willard) Hamrick of Woodstock, Margaret Gunter of Cumming, Jeanie (Mark) Gilbert of Alpharetta, Cody Davis of Cleveland, and Darlene (Michael) Davis of Cumming; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 4-9 p.m. and on Friday, from 10a.m. until the hour of service.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Bobby Whitmire and Calvin Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
