Noboru "Nobie" Imai, age 76, of Cumming passed away June 29, 2013, at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville. Nobie was born in Wailuku Maui, Hawaii on Feb. 19, 1937.
Nobie was employed as an import produce specialist at Lucky's Stores for 25 years. He was an avid hobbyist. He enjoyed woodworking and the culinary arts. He served in the U.S. Army infantry stationed in Hawaii and Thailand.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Yoshio and Hatsuna Imai; four brothers, Katsui, Sakai, Hideto, and Yoshiyuki.
He is survived by his friend and ex-wife, Charlotte Imai; daughter, Nikki Veillon Matthews; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan, and Sabrina Veillon; two sisters, Miyoko Hamaguchi, Yoshiko Fujiwara.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Casual attire is requested.
