Norine Mae Mitchell, 93, former resident of Memphis, Tenn., went home to the arms of Jesus on June 28, 2008, at her Cumming home surrounded by loving family and friends. Norine was born on Sept. 17, 1914, in Brouellette, La., to George and Isabelle Roy Hatfield. She married Leroy Mitchell on March 12, 1939, in Chittenden County, Ark., and they moved to Memphis, Tenn., where she was General Manager of Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge. During the Elvis Presley era, Norine was in frequent contact with the entertainer, his entourage and his many fans. She was a member of the Hotel Association Chamber of Commerce, Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation and a great supporter of various charities. Upon retirement in 1986, Norine moved to the Atlanta area to be near her daughters. She enjoyed being with people and was active with her beloved church family. "She was a precious gift from God and will be greatly missed by all who knew her." She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Yvonne (Mark) Eubanks of Bradenton, Fla., and Pamela (Charles) Padgett of Cumming; grandchildren, Amy Bramuchi of Roswell, and Michael Bramuchi of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Agnes Meyers of Metairie, La.; caregiver, Joyce Okyere of Atlanta; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, July 1, in the chapel at McDonald and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Preuss officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 1 from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. The Rev.
