Norman Jerry Allen Sr., 74, of Cumming passed away July 16, 2010. Born in Fulton County, he was the son of the late Robert and Berdie Allen. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Allen; sister, Sandra Allen; and brother, Robert Allen.

Mr. Allen was an active member of his church, God's House of Prayer in Cumming. In 1991, he was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Ducktown Lodge #572 and later served as Master. He was member and past master of E.W. Hightower Lodge #679. He also held many honorary memberships. Worshipful Brother Allen was a Companion in Silver Shoals Chapter #14 Royal Arch Masons, he was awarded Mason of the Year in 2000, the same year that he traveled to visit 109 lodges. He was a dedicated member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, a member and past president (2002) of Cumming Shrine Club, and also served as an escort for children, transporting them for medical care to both Cincinnati, Ohio, and Greenville, S.C. He was a member and past patron of Ducktown Chapter #460 Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Omie Allen of Cumming; son, Jerry (Pat) Allen Jr. of Ellijay; daughters, Sandra (Edward) Barclay of Cumming, Barbara (Dick) Trump of Pennsylvania; brother, David Allen of Commerce; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 18, in the Chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
