Paul J. Bruns passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014. Paul was a beloved husband and father. He lived in Cumming, with his loving wife, Sandra.  
Born in Chicago, Ill., on Jan. 8, 1931, Paul graduated from De Paul University. He served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from U.S. Steel.  
Among his many hobbies were golf, where he had three hole in ones. He was also a renowned oil painter.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Johnston Bruns of Cumming; two sons, Michael Bruns and his wife Mary of Lafayette, La., Jeff Bruns and his wife Amy of Mason, Ohio; two daughters, Debbie Sankovitz of Portland, Ore., Dana Bruns of Huntington, Calif.; one brother, Raymond Bruns and his wife Judy of Oro Valley, Ariz.; one sister, Marie Palczynski and her husband Leon of Buford; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  
He was predeceased by his young son, Barry Bruns; and two brothers, Bill and Francis Bruns.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Brendans Catholic Church in Cumming. Reception will follow the service at the church.
