Mr. Ralph Edward Thompson, age 76, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009. Mr. Thompson was retired from Lockheed where he worked for 32 years. He also was a veteran of the Korean War where he served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1958. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cumming. He loved to be outside in the yard and working in his garden.
Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel and Ruby Thompson; and his sister, Barbara Lee; and brother, P. W. Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Betty; their children, Shelia and David Clark, Sherrie and Lenn Chadwick, Sharon Thompson and Jason Thompson, all of Cumming, Roger and Karen Thompson of Woodstock, Kenneth Thompson of Dahlonega, Ronald and Elaine Thompson of Buford; grandchildren, Ashley, Savanna and Megan Chadwick, Hunter Thompson, Justin, Travis and Amanda Thompson, Davey and Candi Clark, Dusty and Lorrie Clark; great-grandchildren, Eli and Wil Clark and Lily Clark; brother Morris Thompson; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jim Satterfield. A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services was Thursday, Feb. 12, at 3:30 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bud Sutton and John Lummus officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until hour of service.
