Randall "Hotrod" Martin, age 57, of Cumming passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at Northside Hospital-Forsyth following a short illness.
Born Nov. 29, 1958, he was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. Mr. Martin was a forklift operator for Westrock and was a member of Settingdown Baptist Church. Known for his unmistakable laugh, Hotrod enjoyed life, spending time with his family and friends, fishing and working on cars.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgianna Daniel Martin; father, Egbert "Chick" Martin; brothers, Donald Martin, Jimmy Martin, and Willard Martin.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Heath and Nikki Martin, Dillon and Lyric Martin all of Dawsonville; mother, Geneva Hammond of Cumming; grandchildren, Easton Martin, Harper Martin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and Randall Woody, Linda and George Garbutt, Cumming, Ojuana Smith all of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Danny Ray and Barbara Martin of Cumming; several half sisters and brothers; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. in Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Danny Ray Martin, Randall Woody, and Ruel Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
