Mr. Raymond "Pete" Pierce, age 71, of Cumming, formerly of Atlanta, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, following an extended illness. Pete was well known as an avid pool player.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Norma Thompson Pierce of Cumming; children, David and Gina Ferguson of Newnan, Derrick Pierce of Cumming, Candra and Dwayne Berrong of Watkinsville, Ryan and Tina Pierce of Cumming, Dietmar Doehring Jr. of Woodstock; 15 grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Dianne Pierce of Loganville, Bobby and Edith Pierce of Smyrna, Jimmy and Barbara Pierce of Dahlonega; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tom Gaines of Lawrenceville, Dorothy Griffin of Jonesboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 16, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pete's memory to Embracing Hospice, c/o American Hospice Foundation, 3180 Presidential Drive, Atlanta, GA 30340.
