Richard Coleman Taylor, age 63, of Cumming passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2015 after a valiant six-year battle with cancer. He died surrounded by family and friends at Emory Hospital - Johns Creek.
He was the son of the late Richard Coleman Taylor Sr. and Evelyn Taylor. He was born and raised in Lancaster, S.C. He graduated from Clemson University where he earned his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1978.
Mr. Taylor was National Sales Manager for the medical imaging software firm ScImage, Inc. He was an active member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Cumming. An accomplished musician, Mr. Taylor performed at his church and in various groups throughout his life. He was especially fond of the music of Eric Clapton.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth Ann; two sons, Matthew Ryan Taylor of Atlanta, and John Bryan Taylor of Atlanta; sister, Carolyn Taylor of Lancaster, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 1-2 p.m. at St. Brendan's Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will follow at 2 p.m. at the church.
