Richard (Dick) Joseph Hoge, 73, of Cumming passed away peacefully May 12, 2011, after a courageous battle with a debilitating disease. Dick was an accomplished contractor and successful business owner, operating The Marcus Corporation for more than 35 years and Ocee True Value Hardware for 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Johanna Hoge; sister, Lorlee Malchow; daughter, Barbara S. Hoge; granddaughter, Beverlee A. Hoge.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Alexander of Richmond, Ind.; his devoted wife, Joyce P. Hoge; daughters, Ailise Hoge and Mignon Strohl (Greg); sons, Richard J. Hoge III (Sandy), Marcus A. Hoge (Janis), Chad M. Hoge (Kevin Moody); seven grandchildren, Kirsten, Jessee, Lyle, Kaitlyn, Clara, Dakota, and Levi; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 15, at 4 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross. A graveside service will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park. There will be a reception following the service. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday, May 15, from 2-4 p.m.
