Roger Leroy Adkins, 56, of Dawsonville passed away Jan. 27, 2011. Born in Chamblee, he was predeceased by his mother, Pauline Adkins.

Roger was a graduate of Roswell High School. He spent two years in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He followed Nascar and loved riding his Harley Davidson. Roger also owned and operated his own archery stores.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Adkins of Dawsonville; dad, Royce Adkins of Jefferson; son, Jason (Lisa) Adkins of Houston, Texas; son, Lance (Jennifer) Adkins of Gainesville; son, James Blalock III of Marietta; daughter, Jillian Boyd of Gainesville; sister, Elaine (Patrick) Ewalt of Mayesville; brother, Ronnie (Connie) Adkins of Alpharetta; and grandchildren, Kylie Grace Adkins, Antonio Adame, Gage Adkins, and Michelle Adkins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming with the Rev. Winfred Bingham officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday, Jan. 29, from 3-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
