Rosemary McSherry D'Cunha, age 71, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015.
She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to parents James and Margaret McSherry Dec. 29, 1943. Rosemary graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in medicine. She came to the United States in the late 1960's, completed her training and specialized in the area of pathology until she retired many years later. She practiced in Milwaukee, Wis.; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Atlanta; and communities near St. Simons Island. She also served as the Director of Labs in Winnipeg, Manitoba, during her time there.
Rosemary was a supporter of many charities including the arts and loved to attend performances and concerts. She also loved to travel, dance, was an avid seamstress and cherished her dogs Fumbles and Charlie.
Rosemary is survived by her sons, Jonathan D'Cunha and his wife Lisa, Christopher D'Cunha; daughter, Caroline Hanson and her husband Keith; five grandchildren, Hannah, Mikayla, Joseph, Ella, and Sean.
She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and granny and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A mass in her memory will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Cumming.
