Mrs. R.P. (Polly) Douthat, age 90, of Cumming passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012. Polly was the first Worthy Matron of the Cross Keys Chapter #494 Order of the Eastern Star. She retired from Chamblee High School as a bookkeeper, where she also graduated. Polly was the 1996 president of the Cumminettes of Cumming, Georgia. She enjoyed her home on Lake Lanier, baking, gardening, sewing and having family and friends spending time at the lake.
Polly is survived by her son, Robert "Dick" Douthat Jr.; five grandchildren, Kristin Douthat Cason, Brian T. Douthat, James M. Dias, Patrick M. Dias, Melissa D. Fowler; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Polly Douthat will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at 3:30 p.m. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment will be held at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2-3 p.m.
