Mrs. Ruby Mae Hamby, age 79, of Cumming passed away Monday, July 13, 2009. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was the loving wife of Manuard Linzy Hamby.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Elgbert Bolton; mother, Alma Bolton; brothers, James and Bobby Bolton; brother-in-law, Jimmy Glover.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Manuard Linzy Hamby; sons and daughters-in-law, Clendon and Betty Hamby, Tommy and Delores Hamby, Terry Joe and Vickie Hamby; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Greg Wallis; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Talmadge and Eulene Bolton, Bill Bolton; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Glover, Sara and Bob Cloud; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Bennett, the Rev. John Lummus, the Rev. Garry English, the Rev. Tim Hamby, the Rev. Toby Hamby and the Rev. Larmon Barron officiating. Mrs. Hamby will lie in state at the church at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumming. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 14, from 5-10 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, from 1-4 p.m. and from 6-10 p.m., and Thursday, July 16, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
