Sarah Francis Echols Evans, age 85, of Cumming passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.
Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She loved working alongside her husband in the yard, farming, raising chickens and driving the school bus.
Sarah is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Evans; parents, Claude Welton and Ola Mae Belle Henderson Echols; sister, Naomi C. Croy; brother, James (Jim) Echols.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ruth Evans of Cumming; grandchildren, Shane and Mandy Evans of Cumming; great-granddaughters, Lauren, Kristy and Stephen McPherson of Cumming, Kadance; great-grandson, Camden; brother, Robert Echols of South Carolina; brother-in-law, Bobby Croy of Cumming; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Sue Evans, Louise Evans all of Cumming; several nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives also survive.
The family would like to thank all the care givers at The Oaks at Post Road and Crossroads Hospice for all their care and support.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Purcell, Jeff Wilkie, Joey Wallace and Benny Grogan officiating.
Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Sunday from 10 a.m. until hour of the service.
