Selma Mote Sexton, age 95, of Cumming passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2010. She was the oldest member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Sexton. She will always be remembered by the students of Matt Elementary School for her great cooking.
She is survived by Leonard Sexton and Louise Sexton, whom Selma considered her children and they considered her to be their second mother; sister, Mildred Brumbalow Pendergass; brother, Ralph Mote Pendergrass; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Coffey and the Rev. Robert Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or Youth Group, 5825 Matt Highway, Cumming, GA 30028.
