SSgt Mathew Logan Adams (1980 - 2008) of Cumming, on active duty with the U.S. Air Force at Shaw AFB, Sumter, S.C., passed away on Sept. 11, 2008. He served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, was stationed in Germany for five years and was on current assignment at Shaw AFB.

Mathew is survived by his beloved wife, Jenny Adams of Sacramento, Calif.; children, Dulcie and Damian Adams; parents, Ed and Linda Adams of Cumming, Ed and Lisa McAdory of Dawsonville; grandmothers, Norine Adams of Grafton, Wis., Suzanne LaMonthe of Atlanta; uncles, aunts and cousins; his Air Force family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Shaw AFB in Sumter, S.C. The family will receive visitors on Monday, Sept. 15, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of SSgt Mathew Logan Adams to New Song Community Church, 230 Elm Street, Cumming, GA 30040 or Forsyth County Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
