Steven Peter Grady, 58, of Johns Creek passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011. Born in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of the late William and Gloria Grady.
Soon after graduating from the University of Kentucky, Steve joined IBM in Cincinnati, Ohio. He rose through the ranks and became a branch manager in Flint, Mich. He then went to work for one of his customers, Durakon Industries, as chief operating officer. Sales positions with Storage Tek took him to Boulder, Colo., San Francisco, Calif., and back to Boulder. Steve then spent several years in Chicago, Ill., as the IBM product manager for Forsythe Technology. After moving to Atlanta he rejoined IBM as the southeastern region executive for business continuity. Steve will be remembered as the consummate salesman.
Besides his family, Steve was passionate about skiing, diving, photography, remodeling and building and maintaining large exotic fish tanks.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Grady of Johns Creek; children, Florence, Olivia, Grace and Steven Michael Grady; brothers, William Grady of Johns Creek, Richard Grady of Dunwoody, James Grady of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Gloria Grady of Yuma, Ariz.; aunt, Virginia Mallon of Rego Park, N.Y.; and a loving extended family.
