Theron Walker went to be with the Lord on Nov. 16, 2014. He departed this life at 2:30 p.m. at his home in Cumming, surrounded by his loving family. He was 85.
Theron was born on Aug. 28, 1929, in Oakland, Miss., to James Henderson Walker and Eudera Barton Walker. After a short tour in the U.S. Air Force and working pipeline
construction in Connecticut, he began a career in data processing. He was data processing manager for American Bosch in Columbus, Miss., Valmac Industries and Tastybird Foods
in Russellville, Ark., Tyson Foods in Springdale, Ark., Perdue Farms in Salisbury, Md., and became the Vice President for Management Information Systems at Holly Farms Foods
in Wilkesboro, N.C. He was elected to the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce in Russellville, Ark. He served as Deacon in Antioch Baptist Church in Columbus, Miss., and in Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Ark.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Jo Walker; sister, Barbara Cox of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Dayton Hedges of Dunwoody; son, William Walker of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Michael Scoggins of Danville, Ark.; grandchildren, Chaz, Thomas, Amelia, Alysia; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to noon at Ingram Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Ingram Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m.
