Mr. Tyre "T.M." Hitt was a native of Forsyth County, born Aug. 20, 1939. He married and graduated in 1957. He had a great love for his Lord Jesus Christ and going to church. He was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Hitt was an ordained deacon, preacher and musician. He played in the Saw Mill Band at the Cumming Fairgrounds. He worked and retired from PPG Industries with 47 years of service, filling many positions including a chemist, sales and service rep. along with being a technical troubleshooter.
After his retirement from PPG he went to work for Kroger.
Mr. Hitt was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mae and Oscar Hitt; brothers, John and David Hitt; sister, Elnora Coltrane; and beloved daughter, Carol Sumner.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Hitt of Canton; son, Timothy Hitt of Canton; daughters, Vickie Hitt of Dallas, Sheila White of Homer; sister, Jean Moose of Snellville; grandchildren, Tiffany Tyson, Tosha Roger, Caleb Hitt, Kettural Hitt; and great-grandchildren, Anderson, Carter, and Novalie.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 8, from the Chapel of the Darby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Orr, the Rev. Bobby Padgett, the Rev. Pete Martin, the Rev. Dan Henderson and Mr. Bill Hudson officiating. Burial was in the Macedonia Memorial Park.
