Victor Durham Williams, age 83, of Gainesville passed away Nov. 14, 2012, at home with his family present. Born in Winder, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Williams; granddaughter, Mary Beth Davidson; brother, Col. Robert Samuel Williams Jr.
Mr. Williams was a member of Cumming First United Methodist Church and a member of the Sorta 50's Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of North Georgia College and active in the Friends Forever Alumni Association. He was a 1st. Lt. of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War where he received the Bronze Star.
Mr. Williams was retired from General Motors and spent 32 years as an accountant in the business administration department, and was very active in Lakewood Retirement Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Williams of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Bill Davidson of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Vic and Laura Williams Jr. of Loganville; sister, Jacqueline Hammond of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Cheryl Williams of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Carolyn Williams of Gainesville; grandchildren, William Victor Davidson, Susanna Davidson.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 p.m., prior to the service.
