Rev. W. Amis Daniel, 86, went home to be with his Lord, March 10, 2014. A native of Robeson County, Amis was the son of the late Wilhelmina Amis and John Daniel. He served his country with the United States Navy. He was married to the late Frances Eugenia Price Daniel.
He was a graduate of Wake Forest University and later Wake Forest Divinity School. He was a true "Demon Deacon." He had served numerous churches and also served with his wife, Frances, as missionaries to Kenya.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Fox and Dan of Gainesville; sons, Gary Daniel and Diane of Brevard, N.C., Loyd Daniel and Mary of Lake Norman, N.C.; grandchildren, April Flynt and Eric, Jake Fox and Andi, and Josh Daniel; great-grandchildren, Walker and Lexi Flynt, Caden, William, and Asher Fox; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Kernersville, with Pastor Dr. Stephen Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the church on Thursday.
