Mr. Walter Gray Driskell Jr., age 82, of Buford passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buford, a World War II Veteran, and served in both the Navy and Marine Corp. Mr. Driskell was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Driskell; father, John V. Shirley; mother, Estelle Shirley; and brother, Bill Shirley.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Gray and Melinda Driskell of Lawrenceville, Ken and Missy Driskell of Cumming; brother, Joe Shirley of Atlanta; grandchildren, Nichole Rogers, Austin Driskell, Erica Driskell, Christy Driskell, Sarah Driskell Dylan Driskell, all of Cumming; great-granddaughter, Kensington; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery in Sandy Springs. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
