William Anthony Naegele, 89, of Cumming passed away March 13, 2011. Born in Chicago, Ill., he was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Linda Naegele; brother, Glenn Naegele.
Mr. Naegele served in the Air Force where he was a 1st Lieutenant and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. After serving his country he studied and worked as an accountant with International Harvester in Chicago, until his retirement. He and his wife, Helen, moved to Georgia to be closer to family. There they enjoyed time at their home on Lake Lanier and in the winter months going south to Cocoa Beach, Fla.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen Lois Naegele; son, William C. (Deborah) Naegele of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; daughter Rebecca Butterfield of Marietta; daughter, Linda (Larry) Champ of Cumming; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 16, from 4-7 p.m. with Dr. Jim Dwiggins officiating.
