William Paul Cates, age 54, of Matthews and longtime resident of Cumming passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2009.
Mr. Cates was preceded in death by his father, Carlton R. Cates; sisters, Patsy O'Kelly, Carolyn Saffels; and brother, Robert Lee Cates.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Barry J. and Tonya Cates of Cumming; grandchildren, Chelsea and Chandler Cates; fiancé, Carol Lynn Marks of Matthews; mother, Katherine Lewis of Cumming; sisters, Jackie Hare of Waleska, Gail Genson of Covington, Sherry Graham of Covington, Brenda Gustafson of Cumming; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Sue Cates of Dahlonega, Larry and Tonnie Cates of Dawsonville; stepchildren, Christopher and Matthew Marks of Cumming.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Dumford officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 28, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
