Willie Bolden Mathis, age 96, and lifelong resident of Forsyth County, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. She was a member of Haw Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Edd Bolden; second husband, Jewell Mathis; sons, James Bolden, Johnny Bolden; grandson, Paul Wilkins; parents, Will and Pearl Mayhue.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn and John Wilkins of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara Bolden of Cumming; daughter-in-law, Donna Bolden of Cumming; four stepchildren; sister, Lou Ella Popham of Cumming; brother, J.C. Mayhue of Flowery Branch; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at Haw Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Horace Richards, the Rev. Nathan Martin and the Rev. Larry Vaughan officiating. Interment followed in Haw Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
