Willouise C. Spivey, age 89, of Smyrna passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2011. She was a longtime member of King Spring Baptist Church in Smyrna and was retired from the City of Smyrna after 22 years of service, most of her years as Smyrna City Clerk. She was a major supporter of the Smyrna Blind and Low Vision and Smyrna Clean and Beautiful. She served on the board for the Smyrna Hospital and the Smyrna Development Board and was also a supporter of the Smyrna Museum.
She was preceded in death by Allen C. Spivey.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne Spivey and Bruce Henderson of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Tammy Spivey of Cartersville; one sister, Annette Ivey of Kite; one brother-in-law, Wilbur C. Spivey of Hampton; three grandchildren, Jennifer Miller Nelson, Rachael Spivey, Callie Spivey; several special nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at King Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Jamie Auton and the Rev Mike Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, Oct. 10, from 6-8 p.m.
