Winnie Marie Power was born in Cumming on Jan. 18, 1923. She went to be with Jesus in her eternal home May 27, 2009, at the age of 86. Winnie Marie (Meme, Aunt Winnie) was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and friend to all. She always had a kind word for everyone she met and witnessed her love for Jesus at every opportunity.
She was preceded in death by James E. Rives; William (Bill) Power; and beloved daughter, Starr Marie Rives.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Bobby Carmichael; grandson and wife, Chris and Jill Hughes; great-grandsons, Hammond Hughes, Griffin Hughes and Hutton Mauldin; with many other family and friends surviving.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Vaughan and the Rev. Horrace Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m.
