Merle Elizabeth Samples Avery, age 88, of Tucker passed away Friday, June 6, 2014.
A native of Cumming, Mrs. Avery was retired from C&S Bank, was a homemaker and was a member of Lilburn First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Allen Avery of Tucker; daughters and son-in-law, Linda Avery Carter of Carrollton and Vickie Avery Cannon and Ken of Lawrenceville; grandsons and their wives, Jim and Erica Carter Jr. of Dallas, Blake and Cara Cannon of Athens, Collin and Courtney Cannon of Dacula; five great-grandchildren; special care-givers, Barbara Daughtery and Marquitte Gikineh and staff.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Terry and Mrs. Susan Rumble officiating. Interment was at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Embracing Hospice.
