Annie Mae Cook, 88, of Cumming passed away Nov. 19, 2010, at her home in Alpharetta. Born in Blairsville, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Winfred Cook in 2007; brothers, Claude, Dewey, and Floyd Poteete; and sister, Betty Hamrick.
Mrs. Cook loved people and her family. She was a member of the Dacula Church of God.
She is survived by her son, John "Tom" Cook of Auburn; daughter, Mary Ann Robertson of Alpharetta; daughter, Sallie Ruth (J.C.) Newton of Marble, N.C.; daughter, Brenda Sue (Tim) Gaines of Jasper; son, Marty (Darlene) Cook of Cumming; son, Gary "Jerry" (Vicki) Cook of Alpharetta; sister, Ruby Kendrix of Alpharetta; sister, Judy Metcalf of Alpharetta; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming with the Rev. Jerry Hewatt, the Rev. Larry Cook, the Rev. Johnny Purcell, and the Rev. Snooks Samples officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
