Neil Alvin Magnuson, of Eaton, CO, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 28, 2013 at the age of 95.
Neil was born on November 29, 1917 to Oscar and Sandra Magnuson in Kersey, CO. He attended school in Kersey.
On January 21, 1940, he married Bernice L. Jenkins in Colorado Springs, CO. They spent their 73 years of married life farming and ranching in the Kersey, Ault and Briggsdale areas before retiring to Eaton.
He served on the Briggsdale School District Board of Education and the First National Bank advisory board. He attended, served and taught at the Evangelical Free Church of Greeley, the Briggsdale Baptist Church, the Eaton Baptist Church and the Eaton Evangelical Free Church.
He was faithful to his Lord and Savior, loved his family dearly, was committed to his friends and passionate about his farming and ranching activities. He gave all he had to those he touched especially the youth to which he ministered for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; his children, Al and Cheryl Magnuson of York, NE, Karl and Linda Magnuson of Brush, CO, Don and Jeanette Magnuson of Eaton and Bob and Kathy Magnuson of Wood Lake, NE. He was grandpa to 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Harold, and his sister, Mildred.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, 1325 3rd Street. Private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to "AccentCare of Colorado (Hospice)," "Evangelical Free Church of Eaton," or "Briggsdale Baptist Church," in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634. Condolences may be sent to the family at adamsonchapels.com.
