Barbara Berdean (Malone) Rogers(1931 - 2013)

Barbara Berdean Malone Rogers, 82, was born in the family home near Edison, Nebraska, on February 1, 1931 to Robert and Ethel Malone. She passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013 at the Cottages in Payette, Idaho, where she resided for the past two and a half years.
Her school years began in a small country school near Oxford, Nebraska, before her family moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska, and then to St. Francis, Kansas, where she graduated. She taught one year in a rural school before marrying Donald Rue Rogers on September 22, 1949. Their mar-riage was blessed with nine children. They moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado, in 1951 where they were occupied with farming and dairying.
Barbara's main focus was her family. She loved her children and caring for them. After her children were all in school, she went to work in 1971 at the Fort Morgan Junior High School as a secretary, from which she retired. She enjoyed traveling with her husband for his business and many trips for pleasure.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan, and presently attended and was a member of the Evergreen Heights Mennonite Church in Caldwell, Idaho. She is a past mem-ber of an extension club, school PTA and the Mothers of Multiples organization. She enjoyed em-broidering and sewing.
She is survived by her children, Ruetta (Jim) Price, Wallace, Kan.; Connie (Doug) Dorsing, Fruitland, Idaho; Robin Schreiner (son-in-law), Batesville, Ark.; Veronica (Dave) Branton, Garnett, Kan.; Stanley Rogers, Nampa, Idaho; Miles (Patty Buskirk) Rogers, Chico, Calif.; Brian (Sharon) Rogers, Ledyard, Conn.; Nancy (Dan) Woodruff, Kalispell, Mont.
She was blessed by and was so proud of her 16 grandchildren, Kathy (Dave) Hertnecky, Burlington, Colo.; David (Pam) Sagel, Westminster, Colo.; Michael (Kim) Schreiner, Cave City, Ark.; Matthew (Krystal) Schreiner, Cave City, Ark.; Laura (Travis) Robbins, Batesville, Ark.; Sarah (Todd) Christy, Belton, Mo.; Paul (Amy) Branton, Olathe, Kan.; Justin (Belle) Rogers, Fairfax, Va.; Katelyn Rogers, Ft. Collins, Colo.; Jamie (James) Hayes, Meridian, Idaho; Ashley Buskirk, Chico, Calif.; Arianna Lopez, Chico, Calif.; Trenton (Mandy) Cottrill, Abu Dhabi; Leah Scott, Ledyard, Conn.; Allison Woodruff, Kalispell, Mont., Leah Woodruff, Kalispell, Mont. She enjoyed her 17 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brothers, Eldon (Mary) Malone, Great Bend, KS, and Kenneth (Bar-bara) Malone, Arvada, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Donna (Larry) McKibben, Surprise, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rue Rogers, and daughters, Marilyn Schreiner and infant Diane Rogers; her parents, Robert and Ethel Harding Malone and brothers, Floyd, Harold and Leland Malone.
A memorial service will be held on April 1, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Heights Men-nonite Church, 701 N. Indiana Street, Caldwell, Idaho, for family and friends. A meal will follow.
Another memorial service will be held in July at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado, with internment in the Serenity Falls Columbarium at the Ft. Morgan Memorial Ceme-tery, Fort Morgan, Colorado.
