He was born in Fort Morgan on May 17, 1927 to Henry and Katherine Kissler. Dave grew up around Keenesburg, CO, and later LaSalle, CO, graduating from College High School in Greeley, CO, in 1945. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy

He farmed north of Byers, CO, until 1967 when the family moved to the Fort Morgan/Brush area. There he farmed until age and ill health dictated his retirement. Along with his farming duties, he found time to be a commercial painter and roofer, which he did for nearly 20 years.
Dave was a wonderful husband and father. He was a kind and generous person who will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Henry, Fred, Harold, and Edward; and his sisters, Marie, Lotte, Lydia, Rachel, and Frieda.
Dave is survived by his wife, Doris; his children, Lorinda (and Mark) Anderson, and James (and Brenda) Kissler; two brothers, Sam and Dan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Dave's request, there will not be a funeral service.
The Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of cremation arrangements.
