Eldon Everette Woodward, 74, of Warsaw, Missouri, formerly of Snyder, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born to Russell Edgar and Lorraine Elizabeth (Gilfry) Woodward on New Year's Day, January 1, 1939, at his home in Snyder, Colorado, by the family physician who was also his uncle.
Eldon grew up in Snyder and graduated from Snyder High School in 1957. He continued his education at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado, graduating in 1962 and then obtained his Master of Divinity degree in 1973 from Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana.
On September 6, 1959, he was united in marriage to Ramona June Kobolt. Eldon worked as an irrigation farmer most his life and later as a local truck driver for fifteen years.
He is a member of the Warsaw Bible Church. Eldon is a past member of the Snyder Bible Church and the Hillrose Community Church. He also helped start the Riverview Christian School in Brush, Colorado.
Eldon is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donovan Woodward, Barton E. Woodward and Russell E. Woodward.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Woodward, of the home; four children, Terry Eldon Woodward of Durango, Colorado, Connie June McCray of Warsaw, Earl Eugene Woodward of Fort Morgan, Colorado, and Colleen Anne Pierce of Wellington, Colorado, their families; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (with one on the way); two brothers, John E. Woodward and his wife, Marilyn, and Lowell E. Woodward and his wife, Phyllis, all of Snyder, Colorado; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial service for Eldon E. Woodward will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Snyder Bible Church in Snyder, Colorado, (due to flooding, use Hwy. 52 then east to Snyder). Memorial contributions may be made to Rachel McCray for her Guatemalan Mission, Village Ministries International, or Riverview Christian School
