Herman William Tripp, 90, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born July 28, 1923 in Napier, Iowa to Joseph and Florence (Shedd) Tripp. Herman grew up on a farm in Payton, Iowa. He married Clara Fritz on March 4, 1945 at the Methodist Church in Payton. Through the years they farmed in Payton, Wiggins, and Fort Morgan. Herman was also an innovator in the field of pork production. Herman enjoyed genealogy, and would explore and research information for family and friends. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds. Football, basketball and baseball were his favorites. He was an avid Bronco fan and followed the NBA. Herman loved his family and they were very important to him. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren in all their 4-H activities and sporting events. Survivors include his wife Clara of Ft. Morgan, two sons, Clifford Tripp and his wife Katherine of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Jerry Tripp and his wife Susan of Wiggins, two sisters, Alice Wolf of Johnston, Iowa and Elizabeth Goode of Grand Island, Nebraska, three grandchildren, David Tripp, Sara Kopetzky, and Dan Tripp, one step-grandchild, Michelle Benedict, six great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Miller and his parents. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Ft Morgan. Interment will follow in the Hoyt Cemetery.
