Larry A. Monsees, 51, of Harrisburg, NE, died at Kimball Health Services on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Cremation has been held and private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family. Friends may visit www.cantrellfh.com to leave condolences for the family. The services for Larry have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Larry Allen Monsees was born in Denver, Colorado, on May 13, 1962, the son of James and Ella (Mosbarger) Monsees. While he was growing up, he worked with his family in their custom harvesting business and traveled all over the United States. He graduated from Poudre High School in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1980. He worked at American Veterinary Products in Fort Collins, Colorado. He met Shari Moyer and they were married in 1982 in Wellington, Colorado. They lived in Casper for a short time. Larry worked at Horton Feed Lot until 1985. In 1985 they moved to Fort Morgan, where he worked for C & W Transport. He later worked for the Denver Post and at the time of his death, he was working for USA Today Newspaper. The family moved to Harrisburg, NE, in 2004. He enjoyed woodworking and was a hobby mechanic and enjoyed working on many projects. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Shari Monsees of Harrisburg; son, Matthew Monsees, and Anna DeLong of Greeley, CO; daughters, Stacy Monsees and fiancé Calvin Beery of Minatare, NE, Sueann (Rory) Schilling of Hillrose, CO, Laura Monsees of Lincoln, NE, and Teresa Monsees of Harrisburg, NE; mother, Ella (Joe) Waterman of Wiggins, CO; sisters, Marie (Randy) Foose of Greeley, CO, Irene Tollman of Wellington, CO, Patricia Lott of Greeley, CO, and Della Monsees of Brighton, CO; grandchildren, Clarissa, Trenten, Calvin, JR., Jonathan, Ethan, Bella, and Trenton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. His father and granddaughter, Nevaeh, preceded him in death.
