Alice Bauer Obituary
Alice R. Bauer, 89, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver. She was born January 23, 1925 in Plaza, North Dakota to Ernest and Jennie Werner. Alice was a graduate of Minot Teachers College and the University of Northern Colorado. She taught school several years in Montana, North Dakota and Colorado. During WWII she worked at the Remington Arms Defense Plant in Denver. On July 20, 1947 she married Myron W. Jeffcoat Sr. and ranched in Hamilton, CO for many years. She later moved to Greeley, CO and worked in an insurance office at the Northern Colorado Medical Center. On September 25, 1978 she married Conrad Bauer Jr. and moved to Fort Morgan, CO and farmed. Alice enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing, gardening, and oil painting. She also enjoyed dancing and having coffee with her friends. Alice was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. She was well thought of and loved by many. She is survived by two daughters; Jenny Meyer of Craig, CO and Julie Castor of Weldona, CO; two sons, Myron Jeffcoat Jr. and Danny Jeffcoat both of Hamilton, CO; step-children Rosemary Bond of Keenesburg, CO and Larry Bauer of Loveland, CO; two sisters, Marlys Hartsoch of Tioga, ND and Elvera Petz of Ryder, ND; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Conrad in 1989, one grandchild and one great grandchild, two brothers, Harold Werner and Lloyd Werner and two sisters, Barbara Jean and Verna Stracener, who welcomed her to heaven. A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
