Ben Johnson, 91, of Fort Morgan, passed away suddenly Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the emergency room at Colorado Plains Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1921, in Baca County, CO.
Ben served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge, Ben farmed. He loved working on his farm. He also enjoyed collecting arrowheads. He was a member of VFW #2551.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of Fort Morgan; 6 daughters, Bennie Gertge and Bonnie Teter, both of Brush, Karen Miller of Lafayette, CO, Colleen Daley of Denver, Donna Palasty and Elaine Roth, both of Fort Morgan.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. The service will conclude at the mortuary. Visitation will be at the Heer Chapel on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Serenity Falls Columbarium at a later date.
