Betty Poitz Obituary
Betty Lee Poitz, 84, passed away early Saturday Morning, May 3rd, 2014 following a brief illness. She was born November 10th, 1929 in Arvada, Colorado to Robert and Helen Beghtol. She graduated from Arvada High School in 1947. Betty Married Robert Poitz February 8th, 1947 in Arvada, where she worked as a switch board operator for the Mountain Bell Telephone Co. She also modeled for May D&F and the Denver Dry Goods Co. In 1958 the family moved to Ft. Morgan, Colorado where they lived and farmed until 1975, then relocated to Otis, CO where Betty was the Co-owner and Operations Manager for Bob Poitz Farms Inc. Bob and Betty remained in Otis until the death of her husband when she moved back to Ft. Morgan in 2005 to be closer to family. Betty's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her world. She had a special passion for golf and played nearly every day until an automobile accident in 1996 forced her retirement of the game. Betty was a member of the Okiki Club, the Morgan County Sugar Beet Association, and the Morgan County Cowbells. Betty is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Hall and Carolyn Lebsock both of Fort Morgan, one Step-Son Gerald (Shirley) Williams of Arvada, Colorado, one Brother-in-Law William (Sally) Poitz of Fort Morgan, three Granddaughters Trish (Kelly) Glenn, Jodi (Eric) Christensen, and Jenny Neb all of Fort Morgan. Three Step- Grandsons Chad (Stacey) Williams of Phoenix, Arizona, Travis (Mary Jo) Williams of Arvada, Colorado and Josh (Sara) Williams of Thornton, Colorado. 12 Great-Grandchildren, Bo and Baylee Glenn, Brookelle Neb and Chandra Hass, Tyler and Allie Christensen, Owen Bruce, Sarah, Emily and Rachel Williams, Cameron and Eli Williams, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Helen Beghtol, Brother Robert Beghtol Jr., her husband Robert Poitz, her son-in-law Donald (Doink) Lebsock, and Grandson Jerry Neb. A viewing will be held at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan on Wednesday May 7th from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 8th at the Sanctuary West Campus at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. Memorials may be given to a in Betty's name.
