Jay Legler Obituary
Jay Marvin Legler, 56, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at his home in Greeley after a long battle with melanoma. He was born October 11, 1957, in Schuyler, Nebraska, to Marvin and LuEtta Legler. He moved to Fort Morgan with his family in 1971. Jay married Tammy Hoffmann on January 20, 1979, and raised two sons, Justin and Matt, in Fort Morgan. Jay farmed and worked in the oil field. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing softball, spending time with friends and family, and tapping the mountains when they were blue. In March of 2013, Tammy and Jay moved to Greeley to be closer to their sons and grandson, Aaron. Jay is survived by his wife, Tammy; sons, Justin (Brandi) and Matt (Amber); grandson, Aaron; his mother, LuEtta Legler; and siblings, Paul (Dawn) and Pam, as well as many extended family members. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Marvin (Friday) Legler. Viewing was held on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Adamson Chapel from 12:00-1:30 p.m. Graveside services followed at 2:00 p.m. at Eaton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to "LuEtta Legler" in care of Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
