Marjorie Evelyn (Munshaw) Ravert Obituary
Marjorie Evelyn Ravert, 87, longtime area resident, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
Marjorie was born September 6, 1925 in Dalton, Neb., to Charles and Inella (West) Munshaw. She was raised on a farm near Dalton and graduated from high school there. After high school, she attended the Chadron State Teachers College in Chadron, Neb.
She married William Ravert on September 23, 1945 in Dalton, after his return from duty in Italy during WWII They lived in Chadron while Bill attended college and earned his teaching degree. They eventually moved to Fort Morgan from Worland, Wyo., in 1957.
Marjorie was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan and served as a deacon, an elder, and in other various positions at church. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Marjorie started and ran her own kindergarten, taught at Star School, for the developmentally disabled, and eventually retired from NORESCO. She loved children and volunteered to help them, one on one, with their reading and also volunteered at the hospital.
She enjoyed traveling and had visited places all over the world including Russia, Europe, Mexico, Canada and most of the United States, including Alaska.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Simmons of Brush, and Robin Ravert of Salt Lake City, Utah; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, William, one sister, Marion Westerberg, and her parents.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at the Dalton Cemetery, in Dalton, Neb.
Memorial gifts may be made to the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan or to the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
