Sharon Rae DeManche, 72, longtime area resident, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at her home in Fort Morgan.
She was born November 15, 1940 in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Merle and Vera (Sidel) Randell. The third of four children, Sharon attended grade school in Julesburg, Colorado, and graduated from the Sedgwick County High School in Julesburg in 1959.
On October 21, 1960, she married Robert DeManche in Julesburg. They moved to the Fort Morgan area about 25 years ago from Ovid. Robert died in 2005.
Sharon enjoyed playing cards and she loved to win. She and her husband were snowbirds and spent several winters in Bullhead City, Arizona. Sharon loved her family and they were very special to her, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Michael DeManche of Ft. Collins; two daughters, Shelly Surbeck and husband, Joe, and Heidi Linker and husband, Les, all of Fort Morgan; one sister, Barbara McIlnay and husband, Dave, of Loveland; grandchildren, Boe Surbeck of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Matt Linker who is stationed in Germany, Jessica Linker who is in college in Phoenix, Arizona; and one great-granddaughter, Madalynn Linker.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, one sister, Carol Walline, one brother, Stanley Randell and her parents.
Memorial services will be Monday, August 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in the Serenity Falls Columbarium.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Hospice of the Plains in Sterling, CO.
The Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
