Steven C. Doehling, 52, of Saratoga, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Rawlins, Wyoming. Steve was born Jan. 8, 1961 to Wilferd and Betty Ann Doehling in Fort Morgan, Colo.; the baby brother of 4 sisters.
He attended school in Wiggins and Fort Morgan, moving to Greeley after school and working for Garnsey-Wheeler Ford dealership. In 1996, Steve moved to Saratoga, Wyo. where he lived until his death. He worked for Carbon County Truck Sales. At the time of his death, Steve owned and operated Nubbins Lub & Automotive. He was known for his generosity, kindness and shining smile. He touched many lives in Saratoga.
He participated in stock car racing and demolition derbies, he loved NASCAR, the Denver Broncos, and the Wyoming Cowboys. He loved being in the mountains and the outdoors and looked forward to hunting camp with his friends each year.
Steve was an avid pool player. He served as league director for The Platte Valley VNEA Pool League. He was a major volunteer each year with the Annual Wyoming Open. He participated in the High Desert Shootout, the Wyoming State Pool Tournament and others.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Talbert; brother-in-law, Terry Rapue; brother, Larry Doehling, and nephew, Tony Moore. He is survived by sisters, Carol Barton and Jean Moore, both of Fort Morgan, Rita Rapue of Wiggins; many neices and nephews and many who loved and called him friend.
Memorial services were held in Saratoga, on Friday, April 26, 2013. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
