Troy L. Groth Obituary
Troy L. Groth, 41, of Greenwood, FL, died Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Jackson Hospital.
Troy was a native of Fort Morgan, CO, having been born there in 1972 and graduating from Fort Morgan High School in 1991. Immediately following graduation from high school, Troy joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, VA. He proudly served his country as a sonar tech on a fast attack nuclear sub. He relocated to the Marianna area from Colorado in 2003, where his parents were already living.
Troy was an active member of the Marianna Moose Lodge 1026 having joined in 2004. He became a Moose Legionnaire in 2007, served as treasurer and acting administrator in 2008, served on the Board of Trustees in 2009 and was currently serving as Junior Governor since 2013. Troy was also a member of the Marianna Elks Lodge No.1518.
He was preceded in death by Grandfather's, Bob E. Groth of Fort Morgan, CO, and Leo V. Gormally of Fort Collins, CO, and one uncle, Garry L Daly of Fort Collins.
He is survived by his loving parents, Roy and Ann Groth of Greenwood and devoted sister, Heather Groth of Stafford, VA; three nephews, Cameron, Darian and Dylan, whom he cherished, also of Stafford; maternal grandmother, Mary Gormally of Arvada, CO, paternal grandmother, Dorothy Groth of Fort Morgan, CO; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend, Kim Weston of Greenwood. His family and many friends are heart-broken by the loss of their dear son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend.
A celebration of Troy's life is planned at a memorial service to be held at the Marianna Moose Lodge, 4133 Lafayette, Marianna, FL, on Saturday, February 8th, at 1:00 p.m. Anyone who knew Troy or his family is welcome to attend.
