Vera M. Cox Obituary
On April 14, 2014, the Lord peacefully took Vera M. Cox, 87, into His loving arms. Vera was born in Fort Morgan on May 25, 1926, to Ralph & Marie Drew, and had lived her entire life in the Fort Morgan area. Vera married Alfred Cox on March 5, 1947. Her greatest pastime was spent sewing clothes for everyone, making quilts, reading and endless hours of baking. She especially enjoyed her time spent with family. Vera was one of the cooks at the Adena School, and later Columbine School & Fort Morgan High School. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon; a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, the San Arroyo Club and was a former 4-H leader. Survivors include her 4 children, Susan (Donald) Hergenreter of Greeley; Ron Cox of Berthoud; Katy (Larry) Lorenzini of Weldona; and Colleen (Marshall) Gilliland of Wiggins; her brother, Delbert (Betty) Drew of Greeley; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; 1 son, Danny; 2 brothers Donald Drew & Lloyd Drew and her parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday (4/25/14) at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will be in Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan.
