Richard M. Nestor Obituary
Richard M. Nestor, 68, of Brush, formerly of Sterling, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Brush. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Woodward officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
Richard was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Sterling to Melvin P. and Esther (Mason) Nestor and grew up and attended Atwood and Merino schools.
On Oct. 5, 1963, Richard married Ardith Davidson in Akron.
Richard started Richard Nestor and Sons Trucking, presently known as Richard Nestor Inc, owning and operating it from 1965 until present. Richard belonged to the Elks, Moose and OOIDA. Richard enjoyed motorcycles, boats, snowmobiling, camping, golf and trucking; also special times with his dog, Misty, as well as many other pets. His favorite phrase for his grandkids was "Put a lid on it."
Richard is survived by his wife, Ardith of Brush; daughter, Jeri Anderson and husband, Troy, and their children, Karsten, Kaleb, and Kaiser of Haxtun; son, Rod Nestor and wife, Paula, of Merino, and their children Mady and Austyn Nestor of Wichita, KS, Zach Baker and wife, Amanda, of Sterling, Erika Acres and husband, Evan, of Wake Forest, NC, and Trey Nestor of Merino; and two grandsons of the late Richard Nestor Holden and Skyler Nestor of Sterling; brothers, Gerald and wife, Gloria, Nestor of Atwood, Kenneth and wife, Susan, Nestor of Merino, and Ron and wife, Bonnie, Nestor of Sterling; sisters, Sharon and late husband, Galen Reese, of Atwood.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Esther; son, Richard; and sister, Sandy McClanahan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Richard Nestor Memorial in care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
