Ralph Cullip Obituary

Ralph Raymond Cullip passed away peacefully on Sat., June 21, 2014, at home in Sterling, CO at the age of 91. Visitation with family receiving friends will be held Sun., June 29, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.Visitation will also be held Mon., June 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chaney-Reager. Funeral services will be held Tues., July 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. Ralph was born to David and Bertha Cullip on June 16, 1923 in Potwin, Kan. He spent his younger years in Kansas where he completed grade school and then moved with his family to the Merino area. He was married in Merino on Aug. 22, 1943 to Ruth Shull of Merino and enjoyed 68 years with her until her passing in 2011. They raised three children - Linda, Esther and Dale. Mr. Cullip took over the farming in Merino after his father-in-law was unable to continue farming. Ralph was well known for his custom combining business. For many years Ralph and his brother John cut the beautiful fields of ripening wheat from Texas to Montana. Until retirement and later years he worked the harvest fields with his son-in-law Larry Tramp. Family gatherings were a tradition in the Cullip home. Family and friends were always welcome in the couple's Merino home. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Bertha Cullip; wife Ruth Cullip; sisters Bessie Schrader and Myrtle Isenhower; brothers George, Jake, Dave, John and twin brother Roy. Mr. Cullip is survived by his sister Mildred Anderson of Merino; his children, Linda (Larry) Tramp of Merino; Esther (Larry) Nelson of Peetz and Dale (Connie) Cullip of Sterling; 10 grandchildren, Doug (Bing) Tramp of Arlington, Texas, Marlan (Julie) Tramp of Merino, Heidi (Tom) Pearce of Greeley, Paula (Jay) Poulignot of Cheyenne, Wyo., Shauna (Kirk) Carpenter of Fort Morgan, Tamra (Wayne) Ashburn of Sterling, Brandon (Katie) Nelson of Thornton, Byron Nelson of Frederick, Teryl Cullip of Sterling and Leonard (Shannon) Cullip of Wasilla, Alaska; 18 great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph's greatest legacy to his children and grandchildren is his love of God and unwavering confidence in His promises. His passing leaves a huge hole in the tapestry of the Ralph Cullip family. His hope and faith in God and His provision in Jesus are, and will continue to be, an inspiration to all who knew him.

Thinking of you all...you would be thru with visitation now and spending some time together this evening. We are already back to our field....Bismarck.
